Light

LIGHT is a kinetic type piece focusing on Dylan Thomas’ poem “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.” The narration is an excerpt from the movie Interstellar narrated by Michael Caine. The poem is about life and death. To not give in to death, but to burn with life. To rage, live boldly and not give up. The piece features a delicate type treatment, with changes in black and white backgrounds to create impact. The piece also aims to evoke the tension of the spoken words by breaking or morphing the type itself.

Do not go gentle into that good night

Old age should burn and rave at close of day

Rage rage against the dying of the light

Though wise men at their end know dark is right

Because their words had forked no lightning they,

Do not go gentle into that good night

Rage rage against the dying of the light.
